Our AML Policy and Verification

Every account on our platform is covered by the anti-money-laundering framework attached to our Curaçao eGaming licence (8048/JAZ2019-015). This page sets out exactly when we verify you, which documents we need, and what happens if something does not add up.

Our AML Commitment

We operate Billybillion Casino under licence 8048/JAZ2019-015 issued in Curaçao, and we apply the anti-money-laundering and counter-terrorist-financing obligations of that jurisdiction to every player, without exception. Our compliance programme is owned by a designated Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) who reports to our senior management and to the regulator.

In practice this means we cannot accept funds whose origin we cannot reasonably establish, and we cannot process withdrawals to a person or method we have not verified. These obligations sit above commercial considerations: a deposit we cannot assess is a deposit we must decline or return, even if that costs us revenue. Since we launched in 2017 this framework has been reviewed at least annually, with the last full review completed in 2026.

  • Risk assessment of every new and existing player
  • Ongoing screening against sanctions and politically-exposed-person (PEP) lists
  • Suspicious-activity review and, where required, reporting to the authorities
  • Staff training on detection typologies each year

When We Verify Your Identity

Verification points

We verify your identity at three fixed points, and at any later point where risk indicators require it. The first is registration, where we confirm your name, date of birth and address against external data sources. The second is your first withdrawal, where we require full documentary verification before any funds leave your account. The third is threshold-based: deposits or wagers that place your account into a higher-risk band trigger a re-check, and so does any change to your registered payment method.

Players from restricted countries (including the USA, UK, Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, France, Israel, Iran and North Korea) cannot be verified at all, and we close any such account as soon as we identify it. We also apply enhanced checks if your account is flagged as politically exposed or connected to a sanctioned party.

Step by Step Verification

Verification runs through your account dashboard, and our compliance team reviews every submission manually. Standard checks finish within 24 hours, and most clear in a few hours because the first stage is automated. If a document is blurry, cropped or expired we ask you to re-upload it rather than reject the account outright.

Every file you upload travels over an encrypted connection and is stored in an access-controlled vault. Only compliance staff with a documented business need can open verification files, and each access is logged. We never share your documents with third parties apart from identity-verification providers engaged to validate them, or with the regulator where disclosure is legally required.

  • 1. Open the Verification tab in your account dashboard.
  • 2. Upload a government-issued photo ID (passport, driver licence or national ID card), valid and unexpired.
  • 3. Upload a proof of address dated within the last 3 months (utility bill, bank statement or tenancy agreement).
  • 4. Upload proof of payment method: a photo of your card showing the first six and last four digits, or a wallet screenshot showing your name and account details.
  • 5. Our team reviews the submission and updates your status, normally within 24 hours.
  • 6. Once approved, your withdrawal is released and your account moves to verified status.

When We Ask for Source of Funds

We may ask you to show where your gambling money comes from. This is not an accusation; it is a statutory obligation that kicks in at defined triggers. The most common trigger is volume: deposits or net losses materially above the range typical for your profile will prompt a review. A single deposit of 800 AUD or more in one transaction, or sustained deposits that put your annual activity above our internal thresholds, will normally trigger the request.

Other triggers include deposits from multiple methods that do not match your stated profile, wagering patterns inconsistent with recreation, or information linking your account to a PEP or adverse media report. Acceptable evidence includes payslips, employment contracts, tax returns, audited business accounts or bank statements showing the funds arriving in the account you deposit from. Crypto deposits are assessed on the fiat value at the time of deposit.

How We Monitor Transactions

Every deposit and withdrawal on our platform passes through automated monitoring before it settles. The system flags structuring (splitting one amount into several smaller deposits to stay under a threshold), rapid deposit-and-withdraw cycling with minimal wagering, and movement between methods that suggests layering of funds. Flagged transactions go to a human reviewer before release.

We apply a same-method withdrawal rule: funds go back to the method they came from wherever that method supports withdrawals. Card, PayID, e-wallet and crypto deposits are returned the same way; where a method cannot receive withdrawals (for example Paysafecard or Neosurf) we return funds to a verified bank account or wallet in your own name. Our limits are 30 AUD minimum per deposit and withdrawal, 8000 AUD per day and 32000 AUD per month in withdrawals, with no fees charged on either side.

Withdrawals are processed within 0-1 hours once your account is verified. Most delays players experience are verification delays, not payment delays, which is why we ask for documents before the first payout rather than after.

If Verification Fails

If your documents do not pass, we suspend withdrawals first, not your whole account, while you get a chance to fix the problem. You will receive a written reason and a specific request, for example a clearer photo or a document under a different name explained with a marriage certificate. You keep your deposit rights during this window, though we may block new deposits if the failure is serious.

Where you do not respond within 30 days of our request, or where we establish that the documents were false, the account is frozen. In the false-document case we return your remaining balance only if we can verify a legitimate source for it, and we close the account permanently. Where we suspect money laundering we are legally prohibited from tipping you off, which means a frozen account may come without a detailed explanation while we make the required reports.

Restricted-country accounts, third-party deposits (funds from someone else's card or wallet) and accounts registered under a false identity are closed without a payout wherever the law allows it.

How Long We Keep Records

We retain your verification documents and transaction records for a minimum of five years after the relationship ends, as required under our licence conditions. Retention exists for a simple reason: regulators and law-enforcement agencies can ask us to evidence any past transaction years after it happened, and we must be able to answer. When the retention period expires, files are securely destroyed and the destruction is logged.

You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you at any time by writing to [email protected], and our support team is available 24/7 by live chat and email. Deletion of verification data before the retention period ends is not something we can grant while your account history exists, but we restrict access to it once your account is closed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I need to verify my identity before my first withdrawal?

Our Curaçao licence (8048/JAZ2019-015) requires us to confirm that you are who you say you are and that the withdrawal method belongs to you. Verification prevents fraud, underage play and third-party payouts, and it happens once; after approval you withdraw normally.

How long does verification take at Billybillion Casino?

Most checks clear within a few hours, and we commit to a decision within 24 hours. Clear, uncropped, valid documents are the single biggest factor in fast approval.

Can I withdraw to a different method than I deposited with?

We follow a same-method rule: funds go back to the method they came from wherever that method supports withdrawals. If it does not, we pay to a verified bank account or wallet in your own name.

Why are you asking about the source of my funds?

Anti-money-laundering rules require us to confirm the origin of funds when deposit volumes exceed typical recreational levels or when other risk indicators appear. Payslips, bank statements or tax returns are normally sufficient.

What happens to my documents after verification?

They are stored encrypted in an access-controlled vault, visible only to compliance staff, and retained for at least five years after your account closes as our licence requires. After that they are securely destroyed.
